Our Property and Construction team provides advice to a wide range of clients who rely on us to assist them with the acquisition, development and transfer of property.

Our property clients include property trusts, retail chains, retirement village and aged care facility owners and operators, energy companies, residential and commercial property developers, hotel proprietors, agribusiness and general commercial and industrial property clients.

Our property team works collaboratively with the firm's commercial lawyers in joint venture agreements and other structures for commercial property developments and syndications, and its litigation lawyers for property disputes.

Our experience in the Property & Construction area includes:

  • Acting for a listed property trust and other syndications in the acquisition of nearly 50 retirement villages and aged care facilities across four states. Two recent acquisitions being a group of three retirement villages in Queensland comprising 1200 units and a group of nine residential villages in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia;
  • Acting for a property trust in the acquisition of a large site in NSW for development of a large regional shopping centre and 400-lot residential subdivision;
  • Acting for an electricity consortium in the disposal of regional sites, creation of easement for fibre optic cables, lease of head office and general property advice; and
  • Joint venture and syndication agreements for a development group in respect of the redevelopment and conversion of a large two-story 'resort' style building into 26 one bedroom apartments.
