Charity of the Year The 2009 Charity of the Year fundraising efforts finished on a high, with Madgwicks raising $10,000 for The Cancer Council Victoria. Our Charity for 2010 is The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne and we are seeking to raise funds through a variety of events throughout the year. Through our Social Committee we will come up with ideas on how we will fundraise for the nominated Charity and we hold a presentation lunch each December where we will present our nominated Charity with the funds that we have raised.
The Green Team Madgwicks acknowledged its social responsibility to rein in energy and resource consumption, accepting that sound use makes for sound business. Madgwicks have taken a long term view of energy savings and consumption and engaged
Madgwicks' Green Team is now working towards realising a sustainable working environment, which is the strategic direction of the firm management, and has involved employees to help reduce the firm's carbon footprint. The firm's corporate social responsibility obligations have taken Madgwicks to a new level, with carbon management as a key issue now being addressed. The initial audit provided the basis for action and the identification of potential savings in energy and costs of approximately 20%. One additional benefit has resulted from an assessment of employee attitudes, which as resulted in a number of new initiatives. |
