An update of Madgwicks' Green
initiatives
The Madgwicks Green
Team initiative has evolved from a few individuals into a
fully fledged group, who together, will move the
firm towards sustainability. Our Green Team
members meet monthly to discuss ways in which Madgwicks can save
paper, save energy and reduce our carbon footprint through
a variety of Green initiatives and policies.

Madgwicks has again been selected as a finalist in
the ALB Australasian Law Awards 2008 - Melbourne Law Firm of the
Year.
The Melbourne Law Firm of the Year award seeks to
recognise the achievements of a solely Melbourne-based firm that has
built an enviable reputation in the local market for the provision
of legal services. The selection process for the awards
involves in depth research and interviews with clients, industry
experts and other practitioners.
The nomination is a reflection of Madgwicks' ongoing
focus on sustained client relationships.

Global Windpower 2006 - 27

Madgwicks (The Meritas Victorian firm) was proud to sponsor once
again the Global Windpower 2006 Conference held this year in Adelaide,
September 18-21, 2006. Globally, the wind energy
sector is booming and opening up on Australia's shores and within
the Asia -Pacific region.
The wind energy industry has now reached 63,000 megawatts
(MW) of installation worldwide. The industry employs around
100,000 people, and the value of global of global installations is
expected to increase to AUD $25 billion by 2010.
Around the world there is a major push for the reduction of
greenhouse gas emissions. Wind energy is one of
the most effective power generation technologies tat us read today
for global deployment on a
scale that can help tackle climate change, safeguard our security of
energy supplies, and help meet our growing energy demand.
The conference was a world-renowned event and
very well received by all 500 participants.
