Luisa, a Workplace Health and Safety specialist, assists clients in matters involving health and safety compliance and representation, responding to and assisting with managing major workplace incidents as well as representing clients in WHS prosecutions, coronial inquests or merits review at VCAT.
Luisa also regularly conducts training from employee level to senior management and executive teams. She undertakes legal compliance reviews of clients’ existing safety management systems and provides practical recommendations to achieve safety compliance and implement improvements.
She also provides legal advice on WorkCover matters from managing ill and injured workers, return to work obligations and statutory benefits, and gives advice and represents clients in challenging Workplace Industry Classification disputes.
In addition, Luisa is experienced in undertaking complex bullying complaints and investigations and provides legal advice on employment matters such as unfair dismissal, general protection, drafting submissions and representing clients at conciliation.
Luisa has worked with State and Commonwealth government departments, hospitals, international companies, independent schools, large construction companies, major supermarket chains, and businesses in the oil and gas, transport, manufacturing, rail and logistics industries.
