Peter Hammond Partner
Peter Hammond has more than 30 years’ experience advising across all facets of corporate and commercial law. His experience includes advising a broad range of clients, in both the private and public sectors.
Peter acts for businesses across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, finance, financial institutions and franchising. He also acts for a number of accountants and their clients. Peter enjoys working closely with his clients and their advisers to develop appropriate strategies well before transactions occur to ensure the best possible outcome. Peter often collaborates with taxation specialists in this regard. His depth of experience gives him an ability to foresee future problems enabling him to steer clients around problems towards successful outcomes across a very wide range of issues.
Peter has wide experience of a significant variety of corporate and financing transactions, as well as experience in respect of extradition. He has a particular expertise in work related to the Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA), and has been involved in a number of insolvencies and court proceedings in this regard.
Peter has regularly chaired seminars on behalf of Legal Wise on the topic of shareholder agreements.
Prior to joining Madgwicks, Peter worked for extended periods at three of Melbourne’s largest law firms.
