Madgwicks is delighted to welcome Partner Luisa Gonzaga to the team as the firm continues its growth trajectory.
Luisa is an occupational health and safety specialist with considerable experience in assisting clients in matters involving compliance, chain of responsibility, health and safety representation, responding to and assisting clients manage workplace incidents, responding to and dealing with regulators, representing clients on WHS prosecutions and coronial inquests, and merits review at VCAT.
Luisa assists clients with managing and dealing with major workplace incidents and bullying complaints and investigations.
Luisa also provides legal advice on WorkCover matters from managing ill and injured workers, return to work obligations and statutory benefits, and gives advice and represents clients in challenging Workplace Industry Classification disputes.
She also provides legal advice on employment matters such as unfair dismissal, general protection, drafting submissions and representing clients at conciliation and the Fair Work Commission.

Luisa has worked with clients from government departments, international clients, manufacturing, rail logistics, independent schools, major construction companies, major supermarket chains, oil and gas, transport and major construction. She regularly conducts training from employee level to senior management and for boards as well as legal compliance reviews of clients’ existing safety management systems and provides practical recommendations in demonstrating safety compliance and improvements.
