Madgwicks has a history of community engagement extending back to when the firm was first established. Our lawyers regularly act for and are involved in a number of not-for-profit community organisations as well as a wide range of industry associations.

Each year, the employees at Madgwicks nominate a ‘charity of the year’ and work towards raising funds throughout the year with various social and fundraising activities. At the end of the year, the firm matches the amount raised by employees and hands over a cheque to the nominated charity.

2024 Charity of the Year

Cure Brain Cancer Foundation

Madgwicks is thrilled to support Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, the leading organisation for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in Australia, as our Charity of the Year for 2024.

With around 1,900 people diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia each year and more than 1,500 that will die from the disease, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation's mission is to rapidly improve brain cancer survival, quality of life and vision to ultimately find a cure for brain cancer.

This cause holds a special place in our hearts, especially in light of Michele Kennedy's unexpected and sign-free diagnosis of brain cancer. Michele, our dedicated People and Culture Manager, is currently battling stage 4 Glioblastoma (GBM) with the compassionate support of the exceptional medical team at the Alfred Hospital.

In a commendable effort to make a difference, Michele has graciously accepted the role of our ambassador. She is committed to elevating the awareness of Brain Cancer both in Australia and globally. Through her advocacy, we aim to shed light on the challenges faced by those affected and generate essential funds for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation so that hopefully one day a cure can be found.

If you would like to make a direct contribution (one-time or monthly) to Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, you can complete the donation form below and/or visit their website for more information.
