Following the successful completion of the $686m three-way merger of Andy’s Earthmovers (Andy’s) and Orionstone Holdings with Emeco Holdings, Madgwicks has been recognised as a finalist in the Victorian Legal Awards Deal of the Year category for the excellent outcome achieved for Andy’s and Andy’s shareholders.

Madgwicks’ shortlisting as a finalist recognises the multi-faceted and highly complex nature of the deal which now positions the combined company as a world leading solutions provider in the mining and engineering industries.

The merger included a complex creditors’ scheme of arrangement of Emeco Holdings’ noteholders, debt restructure of the merger partners’ financiers and equity exchanges between the merger partners in what was a multi-jurisdictional transaction.

The team was led by Litigation Partner John Caridakis and assisted by Corporate Partner Peter Hammond.

“We’re delighted to be recognised for this deal and it is a testament to the dedication and effort the whole team put into achieving this great result for our clients”, Caridakis says.

The winner will be announced at the Victorian Legal Awards on 18 May 2018.
