In an exceptional round of promotions, Madgwicks is delighted to promote six of its extraordinary young talents from the position of Lawyer to Associate in recognition of their expertise and dedication to the firm and its clients. Aleksandar Kovaceski, Catherine Tan, Luke Udvardi, Marcus Memmolo, Melissa Passarelli and Nicola Carnevale will be promoted to Associate effective 1 July 2020.

This next generation of legal experts come from all practice areas of the firm and have demonstrated outstanding service to the firm and its clients along with a high level of skill and competence in their respective practice areas.

Aleksandar Kovaceski | Litigation Team

Aleksandar is a commercially minded lawyer with a pragmatic understanding of disputes. He has experience working across an array of matters including contractual, retail and commercial leasing, employment law, property, shareholder, and trust disputes with a particular interest in building and construction disputes.

Catherine Tan | Litigation Team

A commercial litigation and insolvency lawyer, Catherine fights passionately for the interests of her clients with care and dedication. Catherine is the founder of Madgwicks’ Mandarin Networking Group and is a regular bilingual presenter and author.

Luke Udvardi | Property Team

Detail driven with a commercial law perspective, Luke’s property and banking experience allows him to provide holistic advice on both the banking/finance and property aspects of transactions. He has varied experience including drafting and negotiation of Loan and Facility Agreements, Guarantees and Securities as well as preparing documents for the sale/ purchase of land, joint venture and development agreements, and drafting commercial leases.

Marcus Memmolo | Commercial Team

With in-house legal experience and the ability to provide clear, non-legalistic explanations, Marcus is a talented lawyer who works closely with our commercial clients. Marcus is an approachable lawyer with a strong focus on communication and an interest in cybersecurity and privacy.

Melissa Passarelli | Litigation Team

A litigation and insolvency lawyer with experience across a variety of areas of law, Melissa’s unique experience provides a valuable offering to clients in providing excellent advice and support. Melissa has experience with the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court, Fair Work Commission, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Magistrates Court as well as VCAT and works with Counsel on a regular basis.

Nicola Carnevale | Property Team

Nicola is a highly respected lawyer practicing exclusively in property law, specialising in telecommunications and retail and commercial leasing and licensing. She is a regular author and the Madgwicks Meritas Young Lawyer Liaison who works with an international cohort of lawyers on initiatives fostering education and networking opportunities across the world.
